Tibialis anterior: exercises and how to train
The tibialis anterior runs down the front of the shin along the tibia and attaches to the foot. It pulls the toes up toward the shin and turns the foot inward, and when you walk or run it lowers the foot smoothly after the heel touches down. It balances the calves, yet most gym programs forget about it.
How to train it
The catalog option is Tibialis raise: loop a band or a cable cuff over your foot, pull the toes toward you as far as they go, hold for a second and release slowly. Move only at the ankle, not with the whole leg. Two to four sets of 15–25 reps a couple of times a week is usually enough, and they pair well with calf work.
